A global medical manufacturing company developing life-saving equipment chose Brivo to protect its personnel and high-value equipment at more than 26 sites globally.
Challenges + Goals: Eliminating Silos in Multi-Site Security Management
When the company’s Security Manager joined in 2021, the organization lacked a centralized physical security program. Security was managed disparately by various departments using a patchwork of different tools. He was tasked with building a unified, cloud-based program from the ground up and rolling out standardized access control and video surveillance across global operations.
“We were managing systems at approximately 20 sites, all of which were on-premise,” said the Security Manager. “It was essentially a free-for-all with sites managing systems independently. Everything was tied to a specific on-site desktop computer. We lacked visibility, and it wasn’t secure. If there was an urgent termination or a change needed, someone had to physically go to that computer; it couldn’t happen instantly.”
To solve this, his primary requirement was a solution that enabled “on-the-go” management. Brivo was the clear choice because its cloud-native platform allowed his team to manage security remotely and respond to incidents in real-time.
Solution: Standardizing Multi-Site Access Control, Video Surveillance, and System Integration
Today, the medical manufacturer uses the cloud-native platform Brivo Security Suite for access control, video monitoring, badging, and reporting across its global footprint. This centralized approach allows them to monitor various doors and devices and secure highly sensitive areas, such as R&D spaces, from a single dashboard. The security manager can also delegate specific permissions to HR, warehouse managers, and facilities personnel—empowering them to manage their respective areas while maintaining centralized oversight.
To further ensure efficient operations, Brivo is integrated with the company’s identity management system, automating user provisioning and de-provisioning. New hire profiles are automatically generated in Brivo, and access is instantly revoked upon termination. This integration eliminates the need for manual data entry and ensures that security protocols are enforced the moment an HR status changes.
Another key component of their physical security strategy is the integration of Eagle Eye Networks cameras into the Brivo dashboard. This unification links live camera feeds directly to access events, providing their team with actionable analytics and a clear visual record of every entry point.
To complete the security picture, the security manager plans to expand its ecosystem to include:
-
- Integrated Intrusion: Incorporating Bosch intrusion systems into the Brivo Security Suite for a unified view of all alarms.
- Brivo Door Stations: Deploying hardware with built-in video and intercom for enhanced visitor management and at-the-door security.
Results + Benefits: 95% Faster Incident Response
“Having the right tools in place now allows me to sleep better at night. Knowing I have the necessary systems at my fingertips, whether I am on an airplane or in a car, and can address issues globally from anywhere, has increased my trust in the program.”
Centralized, cloud security:
With Brivo, the Security Manager has found the difference in response speed to be “night and day” compared to on-premise solutions, as the team can monitor events live from local security stations or remote locations.
“Being able to log in and monitor all 26 sites from one place and make sure that everybody’s on the same page makes for a more secure environment. Having that level of tracking and real-time monitoring from any location is a huge advantage. It definitely saves us time—and as they say, time is money.”
By centralizing credential management, the company eliminated the data silos of its legacy systems. This resolved the duplicate credentials and conflicting facility codes that previously created a ripple effect of errors in HR time-tracking and payroll.
Unified access and video events
When an incident occurs, the team can respond and resolve the issue much faster.
“The system automatically generates video clips linked to badge usage, allowing us to verify identity in seconds, whereas it used to take hours of manual data scrubbing.”
This instant visibility enables rapid, remote resolution. He can now locate and email incident footage in under five minutes via his mobile device — a process that previously required a physical trip to the site.
Integrations for improved operations
In addition to the security benefit of instantly revoking access rights, connecting their Identity Management Systems with Brivo saves significant time and labor by automating data entry that was once a manual burden.
“We’re saving manpower hours every day,” says the Security Manager. Teams previously spent 60 hours a week on manual entry before the integration was active.

Simple scalability
The medical company has expanded since 2021, and the Security Manager noted that scaling security at their pace would not have been possible with their legacy system.
From start to finish, the installation and merging of systems took about a week per location, whereas their old solution would have taken closer to three or four weeks.
“With every location, the implementation was very fast. It was largely plug-and-play because we were able to reuse legacy components like Mercury panels and card readers. The transition was so seamless that most employees were unaware the switch had even happened.”
