January 30, 2015 \u2013 Eagle Eye Networks today announced that the Eagle Security Camera Video Management System (VMS) is not vulnerable to the \u201cGhost\u201d exploit (CVE-2015-0235), which is a threat affecting most Linux distributions. The Eagle Eye Security Camera VMS is a cloud service for managing and recording video.<\/p>\n

Ghost is a critical vulnerability affecting Linux distributions; it allows hackers to remotely take control of systems without knowing any system IDs or passwords. The fix code was originally created for the Ghost vulnerability on May 21, 2013; however because it was not recognized as a security threat at the time, most Linux versions used in production were not upgraded and thus remain unprotected.<\/p>\n

Eagle Eye Networks Security Team monitors potential threats such as Ghost, Heartbleed, and Shellshock, and patched its cloud-based video surveillance system within 18 hours of discovery of the Ghost vulnerability, protecting its customers and ensuring they are not compromised.<\/p>\n
