New Kensington Arnold School District deploys camera sharing technology for faster emergency response, vaping detection, and unified door access control and video surveillance<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

NEW KENSINGTON, Pa.\u2014Feb. 26, 2026\u2014 <\/strong>The New Kensington Arnold School District (NKASD) in Pennsylvania has overhauled its security infrastructure, implementing <\/span>911 Camera Sharing <\/span><\/a>to strengthen campus safety and enable faster emergency response.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the event of an emergency anywhere within the district, the local 911 Dispatch Center can now access live video feeds from school security cameras in real time. This immediate visibility provides first responders with critical situational awareness, improving emergency response times and decision-making as incidents unfold. The technology enhances protection for students and staff while providing added reassurance to parents and the broader community.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a game changer for emergency services,\u201d said Gene Good, 911 Operations Chief, Westmoreland County Department of Public Safety. \u201cWhen a 911 call comes in near the school, dispatchers automatically receive a prompt that there\u2019s a camera, and can immediately see what\u2019s happening on the ground. This is a key component in providing safe schools.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe safety of our students is our top priority,\u201d said Jon Banko, Principal of the Valley Junior-Senior High School in New Kensington. \u201cWe want parents to feel confident that we are providing a safe and healthy environment for learning.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The comprehensive security system upgrade was a collaborative effort with local security integration firm <\/span>2Krew Security & Surveillance<\/span><\/a>, the NKASD administration, IT Director, School Resource Officer, and the New Kensington Arnold Police Department.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

NKASD IT Director Phil Brautigam said the new cloud-native system \u201cprovides value and ease of use,\u201d enabling centralized management of security operations.
