BETHESDA, MD, June 11, 2015

Dean Drako and Brivo announced today that the company has
been wholly acquired for $50 million by Dean Drako. As Brivo’s owner, Drako will serve as the
company’s chairman, and Steve Van Till, Brivo’s president and CEO, will continue leading the
company.
Brivo’s cloud-managed access control system currently services over 6 million users and over
100,000 access points, providing hassle-free access control for small and medium businesses,
along with unmatched scalability and centralized management for global enterprises. Founded
in 1999, Brivo has maintained long-standing partnerships with Tyco Security, ADT, Protection
One and Stanley Security among other industry leaders.
“We are extremely excited that Dean Drako has acquired Brivo and will serve as Chairman. In
addition to Dean previously leading Barracuda Networks to be a multi-billion dollar company,
he has grown his latest company, Eagle Eye Networks, to be the technology leader in cloud
video surveillance,” said Steve Van Till, president & CEO, Brivo Systems.  “We share a mutual
vision in seeing the tremendous advantages of cloud-based systems.”
“My goal was to acquire the physical security industry’s best-in-class access control system,”
said Dean Drako.  “Brivo’s true cloud architecture and open API approach put it a generation
ahead of other access control systems.  Cloud solutions provides exceptional benefits and Brivo
has made tremendous inroads delivering those advantages for physical security.”
In April, Brivo Systems and Eagle Eye Networks, Drako’s cloud video surveillance company,
announced a strategic alliance to integrate Brivo OnAir® and the Eagle Eye Security Camera
VMS, to deliver customers a unified cloud-based access control and video surveillance system.
The combined solutions offer multi-location hosted services for fully integrated video and
access control.
