Market Spotlight
- State/Local Government
Access control needs of state and local
governments can be a challenge for traditional electronic access
control solutions. Multiple buildings may be difficult to administer
centrally and restricted areas within buildings add a layer of
complexity. Even an access control system's lifecycle can be a
burden: when a system becomes obsolete and a large capital
expenditure is needed to replace it—is there a budget available?
Brivo's ACS WebService solves the problem:
- Administration from
any computer with Internet access. Increase operational
efficiency with the ability to access your account from any
computer with a Web browser—anywhere in the world, at
anytime!
- One credential for
multiple sites. Brivo's wide-area network architecture
links all remote sites together in one seamless system with any
combination of cellular wireless or broadband control panels. A
single individual needs only one credential to enter multiple
sites.
- Email notifications
and digital records of system activity help improve
crisis response and monitoring. Brivo sends immediate
notifications of incidents and keeps a digital record of system
events available to managers in a secure, online
account.
- Safe delegation of
administrative tasks. Provide municipal agencies (such as
the police) with administration privileges. Administration can be
centralized or decentralized.
- Facility
lockdown. Administrators can remove access privileges and
lock down doors at a moment's notice in the event of an
emergency.
In addition, the system's ease-of-use
eliminates security lapses that can occur as Administrators come up
to speed on using the system. Flexibility and ability to
integrate with other systems make Brivo a natural fit for
municipalities.

Brivo's Solutions Work for Government
Agencies—Are You Ready?
Government agencies are working to implement
physical access control systems (PACS) that are compliant with the
requirements of Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD
12), and Authorized Brivo Dealers have a solution! Brivo's ACS
WebService and OnSite SE support the 75-bit PIV credentials that
comply with the FIPS 201-1 standards. Supported readers from the
GSA's FIPS 201 Approved Product List include:
- iClass HID-RK40 (dual reader-keypad and
Prox)
- iClass HID-R10
- XCeedID IDXF-2100-PIV
For a comprehensive background that includes
relevant government mandates, initiatives, and regulation, download
Brivo's new white paper, Software-as-a-Service
(SaaS) and Physical Security Management for Federal
Systems: Adapting to the forces of HSPD 12,
Convergence, and FISMA (PDF, 1883KB).
Give Your Customers Their Two
Favorite Things
There are virtually endless opportunities when
you connect an access control system to other enterprise systems.
And Brivo can help, so if you don't have software developers on
staff, you can still get in on the action and help your customers do
two of their favorite things:
Make Money—controlling access
to valuable resources like parking, spas, fitness rooms, and pools
not only secures the area, but can generate revenue by being able to
charge for guaranteed parking or exclusive access.
Save Time—customers that use
enterprise solutions for human resources management, payroll,
membership programs, etc., have to enter data into one system, and
then turn around and enter that same information into the access
control system. They can reduce data entry time and errors by
entering information only once and using it to populate the access
control database (or vice versa!)
Find out how easy it can be by learning more
about our Integration solutions.
Two Ways to Increase Your Close
Rate
What's your current close rate? Brivo's online
demos have a 65% close rate. If this is higher than yours, here are
two ways to "Do the Demo, Close the Deal." One of the greatest
assets of Brivo ACS is its intuitive Web-based interface, and
because users are familiar with the Web, they can immediately see
the benefits of the Brivo system.
| 1. |
Contact Brivo's Inside
Sales department to schedule a demo at
1-866-692-7486, option 1, or sales@brivo.com.
Since Inside Sales Executives Randy Rolin, Eleni Manoloudis,
and JoAnn Dillard are already among our most popular
representatives, a two day lead-time is
recommended. |
| 2. |
Take matters
into your own hands with your own demo kit. It gives
you the freedom to run a demo anytime you have the
opportunity, on the spot, without an appointment or worrying
about finding time in busy schedules. If
you'd like to join the ranks of the high achievers, consider
acquiring your own Brivo Demo Kit (.pdf, 26kb).

Feature Spotlight - ACS
WebService Antipassback
Antipassback controls are available on
ACS WebService accounts with control panels that have firmware
version 5.0.9 or greater. Brivo's antipassback design provides a
higher level of security by preventing credential sharing among
users. Several different antipassback options include:
Hard
Antipassback—prevent cardholders from using their
credential to enter the premises if they are already inside, or
exiting if they are already outside. Once the credential is
presented, the system will not allow the user to re-enter unless he
or she first exits.
Soft
Antipassback—administrators can specify controls for
individuals and groups by using:
- The Antipassback Reset Interval—set
a time interval that prevents a user who enters or exits from
doing so again before the time interval is up.
- The Antipassback Reset Time—a
group's status as inside or outside the "antipassback zone" is
automatically reset to outside at a specific time of day.
For more information on managing
antipassback controls including step-by-step instructions, visit Brivo's
website to access the ACS WebService Administrator's
Manual.
