Market Spotlight - Property Management

The Brivo econtrol Online Access Control system is perfectly suited for property managers. The system can increase property marketability and tenant retention while reducing operating costs.

  • Tenants manage their own access control, the property manager maintains central oversight
  • Property managers can receive notifications via email, phone, or pager, keeping them abreast of access issues onsite
  • The Web-based, intuitive user interface is easy for tenants to learn, and no software must be loaded onto dedicated PCs
  • Easily expandable if more properties are added, and easy to integrate with existing systems

With the option of ACS OnSite, Brivo's standalone system perfect for single facilities even with multiple businesses, Brivo can truly meet the needs of your property management customers. Read more about how well Brivo can work for property managers.

Recent Success Story
Parkadon Management, Inc.

Parkadon Management, Inc., oversees numerous apartment complexes in the New York Metro Area. Their core priorities are to provide safe, clean, and affordable housing to tenants at a low cost to the property owner.

When Greg Doroski, assistant site manager of a Jersey City complex, realized their existing access control system was not supporting those priorities, he called on Professional Security Technologies of Nutley, NJ.

The original system was intended to remotely connect via modem to Parkadon's New York City office, but ongoing communication problems and software malfunctions resulted in numerous service calls and sometimes left the buildings unsecured. Professional Security introduced Brivo's wireless access control solution. Greg was impressed by the seamless remote monitoring that Brivo's system provided and the ability to receive email and text message notifications from the system, even when he was not logged into the management software.

Professional Security Technologies had the new Brivo system up and running in one day. "Goodbye modem, goodbye software, goodbye unlocked doors, and most importantly, goodbye costly service calls," Greg said. The system will reduce operating expenses while providing proper security for Parkadon's tenants—with unprecedented ease-of-use for Greg and his team.

Daylight Saving Time No Issue for Brivo Customers

Daylight Saving Time (DST) was extended by the Energy Policy Act of 2005. In 2007, DST starts on Sunday, March 11, with standard time returning on Sunday, November 4.

ACS WebService installations will require no action. ACS OnSite control panels must be running firmware version 1.0.4, available for download from the Brivo website.

Visit Brivo's Technical Support Web page for further details on DST compliance.

Speco Technologies Partnership Brings New DVR Options

The addition of Speco Technologies' DVRs to the Brivo System means more options for Brivo customers. Now supported on ACS WebService is Speco's Triplex Digital Video Recorder Family, specifically the DVR-4TN, DVR-8TN, and DVR-16TN.

Converting ACS OnSite Customers to ACS WebService

The ability to convert from ACS OnSite to ACS WebService may help some potential customers feel confident about their access control choice. They can rest assured that if they need to add more locations or features such as elevator control or DVR integration, their investment wasn't wasted.

Brivo's new order form includes the new data conversion service. To learn about how the conversion process works, please visit our Technical Support Administrator's Guides page and download the PDF file "ACS OnSite to ACS WebService Conversion." To obtain the new price lists and order forms, log on to the Brivo Dealer Extranet.

Feature Spotlight - Tenant Accounts
ACS OnSite is a great choice when you need an access control system to be used within a single facility. Its ability to support Tenant Accounts make it ideal when that facility houses multiple businesses, as is so often the case for commercial property managers.

The System Account manages the overall facility, such as lobby doors or parking garages. Tenant Accounts are set up within the System Account, and manage their own users, groups, and devices.

When Tenant Accounts are created:

  • The "Active Account" dropdown list appears, which allows the System Administrator to select a Tenant Account to view.
  • "Account Visibility" appears at the bottom of the "Edit Device" page when the device type is "Door" or "Valid Credential Device." Use this feature to share a door among Tenant Accounts, such as a cafeteria door or garage entrance.
  • Tenant Account Administrators will not see a "System" tab, because they do not have rights to make changes to the System.

Tenant Accounts can be a strong selling point for the Brivo system. Check out the ACS OnSite Administrator's Guide to learn more about how Tenant Accounts work in ACS OnSite.
